Kindergarten is a special time in your child’s journey, and we want to make it as stress-free as possible. Enrolling your five or six year old child in kindergarten is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

First, Get Ready
Enrolling in kindergarten at LCS requires guardians to create a FOCUS account-which should only take about 17 minutes. This application will ask you to upload important documents that verify who your child is and confirm where you live. Let us start by telling you what documents you need to gather before you begin the application process.
Step 1: Create an Account
Leon County Schools uses a student information system called FOCUS to track all of our enrollment information. Please create an account online to start your kindergarten enrollment process. The process might be confusing, but don’t worry, we will walk you through it. Click below to follow the stress-free steps.
Step 2: Say Hello
Once you created your FOCUS account and filled out the application (including uploading ALL of your documents) it’s time to say hello to your child’s new school. We ask that you send a brief email to your school with some important information. Click through to see an easy template that you can copy and paste into an email—and get the correct email address to send it to.
Step 3: Confirm Info
Our staff will verify the information you provided in the application and then confirm that your child is ready to join the Class of 2038 on Monday, August 11, 2025!
